Thank you McDonalds

Late last year McDonald’s announced they were offering 10 x $1000 grants for Little Athletics Clubs. On behalf of NDLAC, I gave McDonalds a profile of our club and applied for one of the ten grants- specifically for extra Javelin equipment which is in need of updating. Today I was informed that we have been awarded a grant.

Thank you McDonalds for supporting Little Athletics and most specifically our wonderful club at Northern Districts.

Excerpt from grant submission:

“We are a small but proud club in Sydney’s North (Mt Colah). Despite our small size, we have produced several state champions in Javelin where significantly wealthier clubs around us have struggled. Indeed, one of our coaches, and ex-little-athlete, throws Javelin for Australia in the Heptathlon (Alysha Burnett). Our club javelins sadly look like they were tooled during WWI and could do with a significant refresh. Top class javelins cost >$1300 ea, but with a grant we can buy four training javelins to cover our key age groups and continue to produce proud little athletes from up our way. Appreciate your consideration.”
